Aku pertama kali menyukai Meatloaf karena lagu “I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That)“, liriknya top dan durasinya panjang1. Lagu ini sampai sekarang masih suka kuputar kalau lagi jalan dan gak jarang setelah sampai tujuan pun lagunya belum habis. 😀 Video musicnya patut dikasih 2TU, serasa nonton film.

Setelah itu aku baru tahu lagu-lagunya yang lain yang ternyata khas, baik suara (pasti) dan juga arrangement lagunya. Satu hal lagi yang unik selain lirik-liriknya yang nonsensical, contradictory dan rule revoking adalah judul-judul lagunya yang juga agak gak lazim dipake untuk judul lagu, misalnya “Objects In The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are” dan “Life Is a Lemon and I Want My Money Back“.

Lagu “I’d Lie For You (And That’s the Truth)” adalah salah satu favoritku. Isinya full gombal, tapi paling tidak gombalnya keren. 😉
